Dr. Franco Zunino presented for over 80 stakeholders from industry and policy makers the potential of the UGC two-fold strategy to decarbonise the cement and concrete industry in the US.
The workshop was organised by the ClimateWorks Foundation and RMI in San Francisco, preceding the spring 2023 ACI Convention that took place in the same city. I also had the opportunity to moderate an interesting panel discussion with some of the cement industry majors to identify and unlock barriers to LC3 deployment within the US and more globally. Senior representatives from Holcim, Heidelberg Materials North America, Argos USA, Ash Grove – South and VICAT participated in this panel.
The workshop had presentation from Prof. Karen Scrivener, EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne), Dr. Franco Zunino, ETH Zurich and UGC project leader, Don Davies PE,SE, Tom Van Dam, Ben Skinner, and Anish Tilak.
