The 3 day conference took place in New York, in the beautiful campus of Columbia University, with an attendance of academics, researchers and students from the US and all over the world.
Dr. Zunino participated in the event with a presentation on long term hydration of cementitious systems incorporating calcined clays, and a discussion on possible avenues to improve thermodynamic models with new information provided by detailed experiments in these systems. This knowledge is crucial to ensure that the adoption of this technology, key to materialise the UGC concept, is successful. Performance aspects such as dimensional stability and durability could benefit tremendously from this better understanding of the ultimate behaviour of these cements.
Dr. Zunino also participated as a judge of the student poster competition along with other academics.
